Web Viewer Explained Thunkable Makeroid AppInventor

What is Web Viewer?
A Web Viewer is a component that is used to view web pages By entering a url in Home Url in Designer or Blocks Editor. The view can be set to follow links when they are tapped, and users can fill in Web forms. However this is not a full browser means user cannot go back when back button pressed in their, if they do so the App will Close.
By using WebViewer.WebViewString property in Block Editor section you can communicate between your app and Javascript code running in the Webviewer page.

Now let's see how to use it.

Step 1
Just drag and drop the Toggle Button in the app screen like the following picture shows.

Step 2
Once you drag and dropped the Toggle Button into app screen you will find the Toggle Button in Components layout and click the Toggle Button option there and you will find its properties in properties layout.Once you do that you will find the options to customise the Toggle Button as your wish.
Like the following picture shows the customisable options.


No lets know what are the customisable options does Toggle Button has and how to use those options and know what are their uses.
  1. This is used to enables users to follow links when tapped in the WebViewer.
  2. This is used to change the height of the Toggle Button by this option.
  3. This is used to change the width of the Toggle Button by this option.
  4. Here you have enter the url of the website or pages must be included with 'https://' or 'http://'.
  5. This is used to ignores SSL errors. Use this to accept self-signed certificates from websites.
  6. If it is checked or enable then, prompts the user to give permission to use the geolocation API.
  7. This is used to open the links in External Browser when clicked like opens in the user download browsers in their mobile like Chrome, UC Browser, etc.
  8. This option is used to gives app permission to use the geolocation API.
  9. If this option is checked or enabled then Toggle Button component will be visible to users or else it will not be visible.
  10. This option is used to set whether user will be able to Zoom the page or not.

Tip:- That the maximum customisable option also can be customised using the blocks editor also we will explain about it in the next post.
